He holds a PhD in Computer Science and has a natural interest in the design and use of technology for a better understanding of the complex social and cognitive processes of collaborative learning. During his PhD he implemented and tested mobile Augmented Reality interactions for their use in mobile collaborative learning settings (mCSCL). After his PhD defense, Sebastian started his first postdoctoral research contract at the department of Psychology at the university of Copenhagen, where he developed a generative AI system capable of entertaining oral conversations with groups. In parallel, he founded and manages CONNECT, an international collaborative research group working on CSCL and generative AI topics. As part of his research stay at the Le Mans university, he investigates the use of augmented reality authoring tools such as MIXAP by teachers, while maintaining his ambition for the use of chatbots powered by Large Language Models to regulate and support collaborative learning processes.

In this webinar, Sebastian, postdoctoral researcher at LIUM, Le Mans University, will present his research on computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL), conducted both with his international research group CONNECT and during his research stay at the department of psychology at the university of Copenhagen.
